On the weekend when my father was not working, especially in the summer, we would all pile in the woodie and drive to the country. Our grandfather’s family farm was in the next county and our route would always deliver views of the most abundant, fertile farmland. Play land. Count the cows, the colors, the barns and yearn to be in those fields, running until there was no more breath left.
